Writing is medicine. It is an appropriate companion for any difficult change.
~ Julia Cameron
We are holding a lot right now. And it’s okay to say so.
The pace of our overly busy lives. The constant input (or output), the disruptive uncertainty of our world right now, the devices and screens in an addicted-to-digital-world.
We’re feeling the pressure, the anxiety, the go go go, and we’re feeling it in our bodies, our thoughts, and our energy.
Maybe you’re noticing…
you can’t seem to settle in your mind, even when you try and rest (but you long to)
you feel stretched thin and/or easily overwhelmed (and you want to shift that)
you catch yourself holding your breath, bracing for what’s next or needs to be ‘pushed through’ (and you want space to breathe)
you’re losing hours to social media and feeling ‘digitally saturated’ (you want a break but struggle to step away)
you’re feeling anxious, distracted, agitated (you want more joy, more calm)
you need a reset (whatever that means to you)
It’s also okay to say ‘I need a break.’
I’d like to offer you the space to take that break - to exhale by slowing down with me for this 3-evening experience.
“Journaling is a proven mood-booster that clears up jumbled thoughts and lifts heavy hearts.” ~ The Globe and Mail
I’ll guide you through creative prompts that will:
Nourish your body, mind, heart through slow-writing
Slow you down enough to create some peace in your emotional and mental well-being
Explore self-reflection with compassion and curiosity
Create a sense of calm throughout your day
You may sleep better! (you probably will)
And much more.
You don’t need to be a writer. You don’t need the ‘right’ words. You just need to be willing to play and explore.
Beginning and seasoned journalers are welcome!
Hi, I’m Jenn
If ever I have come to know, to engage in and to teach a practice that supports our whole well-being, it’s journal writing, or as I call it, slow-writing.
It has been a healing practice for me personally and for my clients. It has given agency to our voices, helped us live from vision versus solely circumstances, and ignited levels of creativity and curiosity otherwise previously unexpressed.
In my opinion journal writing is beyond the ‘Dear Diary’ stage. It is a balm for our nervous systems in a hyper digital world. A return to what our bodies, minds and souls have known since time immemorial.
That we need space to breathe, to embrace our creativity and to live well, with compassion, curiosity and joy.
Can a pen in hand moving across the pages offer this?
In my opinion and experience, yes. Come join me and see for yourself.
If you’re looking for a break from the digital world, come join me.
Dates: April 21-23
Time: 4:30–5:45 PM PST / 7:30–8:45 PM EST
